99.99% of the time this someone is a stranger to me. Outside looking in. Not in the club. Lone wolf. Struggling, pitching, hoping, being too busy to build friendships, making the same mistake daily, years down the road, until they quit and say “guest posting did not work.”
Guest posting works fine, thank you.
You just ignored the secret of successful guest posting.

Seriously though; weekly, I get an increasing number of guest post pitches from utter strangers who never:
- helped me
- assisted me
- promoted me
- endorsed me
- bought my eBooks or courses
These people are as genuine as a snake oil salesmen.
They are not interested in me as a human being.
They just want to know what I can do for them.
I spam these emails if way too busy. Or link to a post on building genuine friendships – aka, how to succeed online without pitching a soul – email it to them, and leave it at that.

You get the running joke by now.
Me dropping links to my guest posts on my friend’s blogs displays the ignored secret to successful blogging; if you help folks, endorse folks and assist bloggers without looking for anything in return, friendships form, and guest post invites flow your way, steadily, then, exponentially.
The putrid pitchers of the world never get it; being a stranger, on the outside looking in, makes you a pitching pariah.
They struggle, fail and quit because they have not paid their blogging relationship dues, to earn the right to guest post on top blogs, by generously serving top bloggers without looking for anything in return, for years.
Do you know how many hundreds, or thousands, or tens of thousands of guest post pitches from strangers these guys above get? Do you honestly think they care about pitches from strangers when skilled, generous blogging buddies who helped them without looking for anything in return are available for guest posting?
Who would you want guest posting on your blog?
- a skilled, generous blogger who can write and who has promoted you and commented on your blog for months without asking for anything in return?
- a stranger who sends you a cold email asking you or trying to convince you why they should guest post on your blog?
Guys, you’re inviting the skilled, generous bloggers 100% of the time and rejecting the selfish strangers 100% of the time.
Fear repels.
Love attracts.
Why do you think 1000 plus of my guest post opportunities spawned from guest posting invites?
I generously helped top bloggers for months. Or years. I asked for nothing, detaching from my needs, being of service and loving the ride. Top bloggers became my buddies. Since I practiced writing daily, my blogging buddies reached out to me, asking if I wanted to guest post. I gobbled up these guest posting opportunities left and right.

Help top bloggers. Ask for nothing. Just have fun being generous.
