Saratoga Springs Celebrates Travers With Weeklong Festivities
Travers Day is when the legendary $1.25 M Travers Stakes runs at Saratoga Race Course, traditionally on the last Saturday in August, dating back to 1864. For many, this historic and popular “Mid-Summer Derby” is the most anticipated event of the summer racing meet, and the entire city celebrates with a weeklong prelude festival of music, racing events, parties, restaurant week and other special events, dubbed the Travers Festival!
