5 Simple Tips to Make 2019 Your Best Year Ever

Sharing is caring!

2019 has started.

We’ve all made our new year’s resolutions. We all want this year to be a great year, right?

As we all saw, internet marketing exploded last year.

More people enter the market every day. More people want to make money online and live the dream…

The dream of working just 4 hours every week, staying on the beach, and having their business generate money for them.

A lot of people have had this dream since 2007, when Tim Ferriss published his book, The 4 Hour Work Week.

But every day since he published his book had seen more people trying to do the internet marketing thing.

What I’m sure of is that you want to build a sustainable business.

You want to change people’s lives and inspire others to live happy lives by helping them with whatever topic you know about.

This post is for you, the leader who inspires others.

2019 has just started, and you still have time to make the most of it, and make it your best year ever.

That’s why I created this post. By the time you’re done reading this, you will have discovered 5 tips to help you make 2019 your best year ever.

Are you ready?

Let’s jump right into it.

Tip #1: Plan your big occasions for 2019

Is there a product launch? Are you going to get married? Do you have any travel plans? Maybe you want to go to an event?

Or if you’re like me, a student, when are your exams?

The big occasions are simply big events that are happening in your life that you need to plan everything around.

Having this in mind will help you prevent scheduling conflicting events or stressing yourself out because you didn’t plan for anything ahead of time.

It’d be highly stressful to promote a product as an affiliate in its launch week, if you had 3 final exams that week.

BTW, it happened to me, and one of these exams was dental materials. Ask any dentistry student about it.

That’s why I spent 2 days applying this tip alone and I haven’t finish everything yet. I’m waiting for next semester’s class schedule to come out.

So make sure to schedule time in your calendar this week to apply this tip and identify the big occasions you’ll have in 2019 to plan your schedule around.

This is the first tip.

Tip #2: Take a course every month to improve your skills

This is another thing that I didn’t care about in 2018, but I want to make my personal skills more of a priority in 2019.

Any new skill you get is another tool you put in your arsenal. You can use it whenever you want to.

Yes, maybe you don’t need it right now. Maybe you could afford to hire someone to do it for you, but trust me, when you know how to do something, even if you end up delegating it, it’ll help you a lot in your business.

For example, you don’t need to wait two days to publish a new blog because there is a problem in your site development or you want to change something in the design.

There may be things that would only take you a few minutes if you knew how to do it, but if you can’t do it yourself, you might need to wait a long time to find someone to help you.

Also, when you have a skill, you’ll know exactly how long a task will take, so you get a better idea of how long it will take your employee to do it.

So what should you do?

Well, plan to take one course every month this year. So by the end of this year, you’ll have 12 skills you didn’t have before. Imagine what you could do with 12 new skills.

Don’t know good courses to take? You could check sites like Udemy for courses about nearly any topic from business to entrepreneurship to health and diet to programming. Really, you’ll find a good course in almost any field you want.

Skillshare is also another great site.

One of the first courses I’m planning to take this year is to become a speed learner. It teaches you how to learn in less time and with a better retention rate. I’m sure a lot of you could use this also 😉

Another course I’m planning to apply is p90x. It just doesn’t teach me a skill. It teaches me how to get my body in shape in 90 days. And this is one of my goals for 2019.

Tip #3: Create a Course

Yes, you need to start creating your own course.

The benefits of having your own course are huge. No one can dismiss the usefulness of this idea.

One of the main benefits is that you get 100% commission on every sale you make, not just a cut of the profits. Also, people might promote your products, making you money without any effort from you.

Another great benefit of creating a course is that it positions you as an authority. With many people entering the market, as I said above, authority is crucial to succeeding nowadays.

I won’t talk a lot about this topic because I talked about it before. You could check these 2 posts from me here…

But a lot of you might be worried about the technological side, how to receive money, create a membership, and make your customers happy.

One thing you could do is try sites like rainmaker where you could have a full, functioning, optimized website, where you could add a membership with a few clicks.

But the flexibility is limited. You can’t add plugins and so on.

One thing I’m in the process of trying this year is Spaces. It’s a new and upcoming company which makes receiving money and giving access to you products much easier. And it doesn’t require a lot of work from you.

I’m already impressed with their user-interface.

So make sure to make creating a course a big event in 2019. It will help you moving your career forward. You can’t imagine how long your course will continue to generate money for you in the long run.

Tip #4: Redesign your blog

If content is king, why would you care about design?

Guess what, content is not king. When it comes to business, design is king and content is queen.

Surprised? I was, too, when I read this post by Derek Halpern, THE “CONTENT IS KING” MYTH DEBUNKED.

Here’s a quote from the post:

Elizabeth Sillence, and her team, conducted a study where they asked a bunch of people to find websites about hypertension.

Then she asked people to record whether they trusted or distrusted the websites they found, and why.

And guess what?

When she reviewed the reasons why people distrusted a website, 94% cited DESIGN problems.

Yes, you read that right.

Your design can TRIGGER immediate DISTRUST.

Did you read the last sentence? Design can lead to distrust, even before reading your post.

Imagine you spend ten hours writing the most epic post on the internet about a specific topic, and at the end, people don’t even read a single word, distrust you, and leave your site.

Annoying, isn’t it?

Also, Google has released a new update where sites which aren’t mobile-friendly appear below those which are optimized for mobile devices in the search engine.

This simple addition is available in almost all good premium WordPress designs nowadays.

You don’t need to lose visitors from Google because your site isn’t optimized. Also, you don’t want to piss off your mobile readers because they can’t navigate your site well on their mobile devices or tablets.

Mobile devices were the big thing in 2015, and one thing for sure is that it will continue growing in 2019.

But don’t get over-obsessed with it. Also, don’t try to create the best website with a lot of photos, slides and all those fancy things. It’s not a fashion blog, after all; you’re doing business, not showing off your art.

There’s nothing better than keeping it simple.

Simple is the ultimate sophistication 🙂

So how can you create a great new design when you’re not a designer?

The first company I’d recommend you to check out is Studiopress. The Genesis Framework, which is the engine of every theme on this site, is optimized to make your site load fast, and make your themes highly optimized for search engines.

And with their library of themes, I’m sure you’ll find the one that suits you. I just hope that you’re not overwhelmed.

Another great company on the rise right now is Thrive. I haven’t used their designs yet, but I’m already using their plugins, Thrive Leads, and Thrive Content Builder, and they’re really amazing.

I’m now able to build highly optimized landing pages without the need to pay monthly for services like Leadpages.

Also, I see many people already using it, like Zac Johnson. It’s also another option you may consider.

So make changing your design a big event in 2019 😉

Tip #5: Join some premium forums in your niche

Paid forums are one of the best ways to know the hidden secrets. This is a place where most of the big experts hangout and share their secrets.

AffPlaybook and STM Forum are top notch affiliate marketing forums which you can join to enhance your affiliate marketing skills and make your dreams come true in 2019.

You can read many case studies from the experts and read some follow along threads where you get the exact ideas to monetize any niche.

Premium Tip: Start building email list on your blog to build a thriving audience.
