Gong Seung Yeon may be starring in a new historical drama!
On April 8, Sports Chosun reported that Gong Seung Yeon was cast as the lead in JTBC’s new drama “Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency” (literal title), and a source from her agency BH Entertainment clarified, “She has received a casting offer and is positively reviewing it.”
Based on a novel of the same name, “Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency” is a fusion sageuk about a king (played by Seo Ji Hoon) who uses the help of matchmaking agency “Flower Crew” to protect his first love. Together, they transform the lowly woman Gae Ddong (meaning “dog excrement”) into a noblewoman and risk their lives planning a fraudulent marriage.
Gong Seung Yeon will play Gae Ddong, a stubborn and rough girl who travels to Hanyang to find her brother. She is the first love of king Lee Soo, who becomes a king overnight.
Kim Min Jae, Park Ji Hoon, and Seo Ji Hoon were previously confirmed to star in the drama.
“Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency” will premiere on September 2.
