Yoon Seo Bin apologizes to JYP Entertainment & ‘Produce 101’ for controversy

Yoon Seo Bin of ‘Produce x 101‘ has apologized for the controversy surrounding his past, and JYP Entertainment has announced he’s been dropped as a trainee.

After rumors of Yoon Seo Bin’s past as a bully who smoked and drank underage, JYP Entertainment announced his contract with the agency has been canceled, and he’ll be leaving ‘Produce x 101’. Yoon Seo Bin told media outlets, “I apologize. It’s true I partied in high school, and I’m still reflecting on it a lot. I apologize to JYP Entertainment and the ‘Produce x 101’ production team because of all this.”

On his name change from Yoon Byung Hwee to Yoon Seo Bin, he explained, “I definitely did not change my name and quit school to clear my past. I changed my name because it was always difficult to pronounce. My parents also went to the Korean fortune teller, who told us the name wasn’t good. I also signed as a trainee at a different agency in my second year of high school and later quit because it was too difficult to travel between Gwangju and Seoul.”

As for being a bully, Yoon Seo Bin said, “I apologize. No matter the reason, it’s wrong of me to have caused that situation. I apologize for causing such a big controversy when I’m only a trainee. I’m back in my hometown now, and I can’t even go on the internet or meet people. I’m thinking about what I can do now, and I know the public will not see me in a good light in any case. I can’t get myself to do anything right now. I apologize to everyone.”
