Effective immediately: Full-time Web Developer in the Web Communications Department at Wilmington University – Wilson Graduate Center.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required or higher in web development or related field along with three to five years’ experience in front-end web design and development is preferred. Must have excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be able to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation. Must demonstrate experience in the following: HTML5, XML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery. Must demonstrate experience using open-source and modern frameworks for responsive, front-end web development. Must demonstrate experience with professional web design/development software (Dreamweaver or similar product), and professional graphics software (Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign). Knowledge/experience developing/delivering WordPress web sites is a plus. Knowledge/experience developing templates for enterprise web content management systems is a plus. Knowledge/experience developing for Active Server Pages (ASP.NET) is a plus.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):  Design, develop, maintain, and improve web pages, user interfaces, and interactive experiences for the University’s web site(s). Develop, implement, manage and improve web page templates, frameworks, reusable UI elements, style sheets, and style references for use across University web site(s). Continuously learn, adopt and implement modern web development techniques and practices for mobile-first, fast-loading, user-centered web experiences. Develop and implement web sites and pages using best practices for search engine optimization and internal site search. Lead efforts to improve user experience by analyzing web analytics data, conducting and analyzing user testing, and implementing and sustaining user/constituent feedback activities. Lead continuous efforts to provide accessible web experiences for people with disabilities that are compliant with federal and other regulations. Coordinate with team members to ensure web site(s) can adapt quickly and easily in response to continuous changes in web content, applications, and priorities. Coordinate within University Relations teams to develop and refine the University’s Internet brand identity and overall look and feel of the University’s web site(s) in alignment with brand standards. Develop and maintain documentation and assist with development of related policies and procedures for University web development. All other duties as assigned by the Director.

Hours of Employment: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Incumbent may be asked to be flexible with hours.)
