David McDowell, a Cape Henlopen High School alumnus from the Class of 2012, and a team of digital marketers and developers are competing in the global search engine optimization competition from Wix.
Liquid Interactive, the agency McDowell is employed by, was chosen from hundreds of agencies across the globe to compete in the Wix SEO Battle. The Wix SEO Haters are squaring off against the Wix SEO Lovers in this six-month competition to see whose site can outrank the other’s for the search term “Wix SEO.”
The Lovers team must build its site using Wix, and the Haters team must build its site with anything but Wix. The contest is judged by renowned SEO and social media marketing expert Lukasz Zelezny from London. The competition will conclude Thursday, Dec. 19, and the winning team will receive a $25,000 prize. The losing team will receive $10,000.
McDowell said he is incredibly excited to take on this challenge and duke it out for the top-ranking spot. As he continues to grow and establish himself within the digital marketing industry, he is looking forward to competing in a global competition and representing both Lehigh Valley, Pa., and Sussex County.
