Your Huawei P30 Pro is about to get new camera features and Android 10 (plus some new colour options) – Ausdroid

Following the leaked images from the IFA venue yesterday, Huawei has confirmed the P30 Pro will release in two new colours – Misty Lavender and Mystic Blue.

Taking inspiration from nature, the duality between the landscape and the horizon, the new colour options are a little more than that – they represent a new material design for the rear casing too which makes it a little easier to grip, and less prone to fingerprints. Bonus!

While these colours will likely not be coming to Australia, we understand, there are some other announcements alongside the new colours which are worth paying attention to.

In particular, there’s some upgrades to the photography functions on the P30 Pro series.

The new Super Night Selfie function uses a high image sensing portrait algorithm to brighten the subject of your photos at night, while lowering the brightness of other light sources in the background, allowing for a more natural, clear selfie that makes your subject really pop.

There’s also a new AI-powered Vlog editing function, to create music videos from your gallery with just one click. You can customise these videos with your choice of music, filters and effects, and even combine clips to make a compelling video entirely on-device.

These photography updates will be available to new and existing P30 Pro customers very soon, and they’ll be coming separately from the EMUI 10 update, which we’ll now turn to.

EMUI 10 (which brings with it Android 10) is the real headline though – while it won’t be released today, Android 10 will come to the P30 Pro first among Huawei’s phone lineup, and the update should come relatively soon.

EMUI 10 brings a new magazine style design for the lock screen, and a new, more simple and clear user interface and of course the increased prevalence of Android 10’s dark mode to not only save a bit of power, but to also save your eyes in certain environments.

Precise timing around the Android 10 upgrade and new camera software will be confirmed soon. The new P30 Pro will go on sale in other markets from 20 September 2019, however.
