OnePlus 7T release date confirmed, here’s how you can be there

OnePlus will unveil its hotly-anticipated OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro smartphones at an exclusive event in London on October 10, 2019.

The launch will be held in the all-new Magazine London venue in North Greenwich, with tickets for the event going on-sale from Thursday September 20, 2019.

The Shenzhen-based company will sell tickets to the event for £30 per person, however the first batch will be discounted to £16 as part of an early bird offer. Even better than that deal, OnePlus will be giving two fans the chance to win a trip to attend the London launch event, with flights and hotels all covered by the company.

And if that isn’t enough to float your boat, the prize fund also includes lunch with OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau ahead of the grand unveiling on-stage. Visit the OnePlus Community forums for information on how to enter the competition.

The OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro will be the successor the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro that debuted earlier this year.

OnePlus typically refreshes its flagship handsets roughly six months after their initial launch with faster internals, better cameras, and the latest version of Google’s Android operating system.

And the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro are expected to be no different. Ahead of the event next month, a number of leaks have shown a new circular rear-camera design for the triple-camera – moving away from the vertically-stacked aesthetic seen on the OnePlus 7 series.

Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 7T is expected to boast a small teardrop-like notch for its front-facing camera, while the OnePlus 7T Pro is widely-rumoured to have the same pop-up camera mechanism seen on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Both smartphones are tipped to ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+, which improves on the standard Snapdragon 855 with faster internals designed for mobile gaming. It’s capable of around 15% faster graphics rendering, compared with the standard Snapdragon 855.

Elsewhere, OnePlus is expected to bring a new Macro Mode to the camera to handle close-up shots, as well as an improved Nightscape mode for tough, low-light conditions, and Super Slow-Motion recording at 960 frames-per-second at 720p HD.

That should help OnePlus compete with the next-generation photography capabilities of the likes of the iPhone 11 Pro, and forthcoming Google Pixel 4 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro – something its predecessor didn’t have to contend with.

Announcing the OnePlus 7T Series launch event in London, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said: “OnePlus has been built around the idea of fast and smooth, and we constantly challenge ourselves to be even better. Your smartphone’s display is the element you interact with the most, so it makes sense to invest in screen innovation. I’m really excited to hear what our users think of the OnePlus 7T Series.”

As always, OnePlus fans will be able to tune-in and watch the OnePlus 7T Series launch event live on the official company website, on YouTube and Twitter.

The launch event kickstarts at 4pm GMT, which is 9am Pacific Time, and 12pm Eastern Time.

Express.co.uk is attending the showcase and will have all the latest news about the OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, and (fingers crossed) the OnePlus TV at the October 10, 2019 event.
