Life-Sized LEGO Iron Man
Created by LEGO Lead Model Designer Greg Omartian and Senior Model Builder Jeff Rushby, this life-sized Iron Man that stands 6.5-feet-tall made its debut at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con. It’s modeled after Tony Stark’s Mark LXXXV suit from Avengers: Endgame and took exactly 35,119 LEGO pieces over 255-hours to complete. Read more for two videos and additional information.

The Mark LXXXV Armor is Tony Stark’s final Iron Man suit and an upgrade to the Iron Man Armor: Mark L. It was created at some time during the five years after the Thanos Snap. Before joining in the Time Heist, he recorded a message for Pepper Potts and Morgan Stark, just in case that he wouldn’t return from an untimely death. Since it is the strongest armor ever created by Tony Stark, he was able to hold the Nano Gauntlet long enough to shift the nanites of the Gauntlet to steal the Infinity Stones. This suit was also able to withstand Thanos’ attacks far better than the Mark L Armor did, remaining functional until the very end.

The most challenging part of designing Iron man was probably incorporating the lights into the eyes, the Arc Reactor, and hand because there’s not much room in the model to add electronics so you have to be very careful about the way you build the outer wall of the model,” said Greg Omartian.
