It’s a great time to be an Apple fan. It seems like the Cupertino firm only just took the wraps off its new iPhone 11 series and Apple Watch Series 5, but it might not be done there.

While the firm has already updated some of its most popular products this year, there are still a few that haven’t been treated to upgrades in 2019.

Chief of which are the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro, two of Apple’s most popular and powerful products right now.

Last year Apple took to the bustling city of New York for a hardware showcase at the tail end of October. Here it unveiled its redesigned iPad Pro, a long awaited update to the MacBook Air and the Mac mini.

Although not confirmed by the tech powerhouse, it’s expected another October event will be held this year to announce its final product updates of 2019, maybe with a few surprises thrown in, too.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re expecting from Apple if it does indeed hold a hardware showcase in October.

iPad Pro

Back in August rumours surfaced claiming the iPad Pro was in for an extreme camera upgrade. In fact, Japanese outlet Macotakara said the powerful tablet was set to be granted a triple lens camera, just like the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.

Such claims have since been corroborated by reliable tipster Sonny Dickson who recently posted an alleged image of the new tablet online.

The photo showed the iPad Pro looking extremely familiar albeit for a new square camera housing positioned at its top left-hand corner.

Unlike the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max though, the hardware’s array was not shown to be flush with the rest of its back panel. It’s currently unclear if this will change before its full debut.

If Apple’s iPad Pro is indeed set for a triple camera makeover, it could provide a seismic upgrade to the tablet series.

For reference, Apple’s current iPad Pro only totes a single 12-megapixel rear camera and is not capable of performing actions such as Portrait Mode. This could all change with Apple’s 2019 tablet.

Other rumours about a new iPad Pro have been relatively light. It’s assumed an updated version of the Apple tablet would also come with turbocharged internals, A13X anyone?

MacBook Pro

Rumours that Apple is planning to launch a MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display this year have been rife. The new device has been tipped to be physically the same size as the current MacBook Pro 15-inch but reduce its bezels to allow for more display.

What’s more, reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has insisted the new laptop could ditch Apple’s signature Butterfly keys for more traditional scissor switch ones.

This could allow for a greater overall travel when typing. It’s also possible this may remedy some reliability issues some Apple fans have experienced with the firm’s Butterfly mechanism.

In terms of pricing, it’s been tipped this particular MacBook Pro model could start at an eye-watering $3,000.

Internally, Apple’s new MacBook Pros will reportedly be powered by Intel’s ninth-generation Coffee Lake-H processors, the same housed under the bonnet of the current 15-inch MacBook Pro.

Mac Pro

Apple announced its next-generation Mac Pro and its Pro Display XDR at its Worldwide Developers Conference back in June. Put simply, the machine is an absolute beast.

Apple has already confirmed the new Mac Pro will debut this fall, so it’s possible it could be discussed once more if an October hardware event is held.

Apple Tag

Apple has long been rumoured to be working on an item tracking device similar to those already sold by Tile.

Essentially, the device would be designed to help users find items if they’re lost. However, Apple could have a huge ace up its sleeve with the iOS integration that could come from its own tracker.

In particular, the American firm has been rumoured to be working on specific augmented reality (AR) features that could help users locate things with greater ease, although it’s not clear how this would work.

Although all the new Apple product rumours mentioned above will surely get fans incredibly excited, it’s worth noting nothing about an October hardware event or new hardware updates has been officially confirmed by Apple.

But of course, Express.co.uk will be on hand if Apple does decide to hold another showcase before 2019 is up.
