Registration is open for the Arvada Chamber’s first-ever Business Summit, open to all members of the business community interested in improving their marketing, hiring, leadership and general business-related skills.
The event will be Oct. 30, in the Arvada Events ballroom at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd. Tickets cost $125 for the day, which will include a variety of sessions addressing the struggles that business owners identified in the chamber’s Business Challenges Survey.
“The conference is going to be about action,” said chamber president Kami Welch. “We want people to be able to walk away with 20 things they can do.”
Sessions will address a variety of questions, including whether a recession is coming, how to best hire and retain employees, down to what business owners can learn from the beer industry, Welch said.
The chamber has invited local experts as well as state and national partners to speak at the conference, she said.
Speaker Chris Woodley, who has worked in video production for several decades, emphasized the variety of the different conference sessions.
For individuals at all career levels, in businesses of any size, “anyone can tell their organization’s story in an engaging way,” he said.
Woodley’s session will focus on video marketing and the ways that any business can excel in and afford video.
“When somebody’s learning about video from me, and the next presenter’s talking about SEO (search engine optimization), it all fits together,” he said. “Any business looking to get their message out would be a great attendee.”
Attendees can register online at arvadachamber.org/bizsummit through Oct. 28.
Welch said she looks forward to watching the community learn new skills and connect with one another at the brand-new event.
“It’s making sure our businesses have the resiliency to be successful long into the future,” she said. “I would love for something like this to continue to be an opportunity.”
