Tesco Mobile DOWN – Service back online after customer hit by call and text outage

UPDATE: Tesco Mobile is now back to full service with customers able to make and receive calls and texts.

In a statement, Tesco Mobile said: “This afternoon some customers were affected by a technical issue with our voice and SMS service. Service has now been restored and we’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers during this time.”

ORIGINAL STORY: Tesco Mobile is down and not working this afternoon as hundreds of customers are reporting issues with making calls, sending texts and using 4G data.

The service appears to have hit problems at around 1pm with the issues appearing to have gotten worse as the day has progressed.

Independent outage monitor, Down Detector, is showing a surge of complaints with hundreds of Tesco Mobile users currently unable to access vital services.

According to the live outage map, customers across large parts of the UK are suffering from the glitch.

Posting on Down Detectors forum, one user said: “Taking several attempts to get sms messages to send (keep getting error message and told to try again).”

And another added: “Can’t send texts keeps saying failed to send then after a few tries sends. Can make calls and use internet fine.”

Tesco Mobile has now confirmed the issues with a post on its Twitter feed saying: “We’re aware that some customers are currently experiencing delays when sending and receiving messages and calls.

“We’re working hard to get this resolved as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will update you as soon as we’ve fixed the issue.”
