I been studying the results of my site(s) using Google Page Speed tests. Almost all were built with php open source shopping cart software. The cart uses a bit of third party extensions, customizations, etc and I am 100% sure it effects the performance.
Google scores me low like 35. Sometimes it may go as high as 44 but normally it’s considered RED or YELLOW at best.
The report mentions a ton of things it hates including reducing server response time, eliminating render-blocking resources. etc
So then I’m like, “Well let’s see how the BEST of the BEST does”. shopping.google.com scores 34! Amazon.com scores 62 (ok 20 points better than me but not 90-100 for maybe the most popular e-commerce shop in the world!), and warbyparker.com, again a popular site and solid cart, Nike.com scores 54. Again nobody is getting 90-100.
Some of the sites that ourrank for me to top keywords I target, have slightly better scores. Some have worse.
I can’t find any rhyme or reason to these scores and if these scores effect how Google sees my site? Should I worry about any of this or move onto other pressing concerns that may effect my SEO.
