On The Voice, Jackie Verna delivered a great cover of “American Honey” by Lady Antebellum for her knockout performance. Adam Levine said he loved both very much and that both made such strides. Adam picked Jackie as the winner of the knockout round. Adam then hit his save button for Drew.
Blake Shelton hit his steal button for Drew. Blake said this was the second time he hit his button for him. Blake said he believes in Drew. Adam noted that he has pushed his button for him twice. Drew chose to remain loyal to Adam and stay on his team.
Blake said it is great to see artists take the stage and know what they want. Blake said Drew has things in his style for Adam to want to take him. Blake noted that Jackie is country and Adam has a thing to try and win with a country artist. Alicia Keys said Drew’s voice is really special. Alicia said Jackie has a pure tone and that at the end she got really powerful. Kelly Clarkson said Drew has a really cool voice. Kelly noted that Jackie has a pure voice.

Six years ago, the viral video “Golden Loves Guitar” garnered almost 14 million views, forever changing the path of Drew’s life. The video of Drew playing the guitar alongside his golden retriever companion attracted the attention of many. Drew learned to play the guitar from his father and eventually began singing as the front man of his high school rock band back in Connecticut. Drew declined the opportunity to study at Berklee College of Music in order to get a degree in economics. After the success of his video, Drew moved to L.A. and currently works as a bartender at the Pacific Theatres bar at The Grove.
In 2012, Jackie was T-boned by a car that ran a red light. The accident left Jackie with severe physical injuries and a loss of confidence in her future. Her dreams of moving to Alabama and cheering in college came to a halt. Jackie spent the first few months after the accident indoors, not ready to face the outside world. She quickly turned to the keyboard her aunt gave her, and music became the key to her recovery. Country music allowed Jackie to infuse her emotions and story into its narrative style. She went on to attend Penn State, and as her confidence grew, Jackie began performing at local open mics. This is her first big performance.

The four-time Emmy Award-winning “The Voice” returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season. Superstar singer-songwriter Clarkson makes her debut as a coach this season, with Season 12-winning coach and musical icon Keys taking a red chair alongside the show’s returning coaches, Levine and Shelton, and host Carson Daly.
Once the teams are set, the battle is on.
The coaches dedicate themselves to developing their teams of artists, giving them advice and sharing the secrets of their success, along with help from their celebrity advisers. During the battle rounds, the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other to sing the same song together in front of a studio audience. After the vocal battle, the coach must choose which of his or her singers will advance to the next round of competition, while the losing artist is available to be stolen by another coach. Each coach has two steals available during the battle rounds.
