Google to hold workshops in NM » Albuquerque Journal


ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Google has announced it will hold free, one-day events in three New Mexico libraries to help job seekers, small business owners, students, educators and entrepreneurs improve their digital skills.

The workshops, part of the Grow with Google initiative, will be:

— Albuquerque, March 18, at the city-county library at 8081 Central NW from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

— Las Cruces, March 20, at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

— Gallup, March 22, at the Octavia Fellin Public Library, 115 West Hill Ave. from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

During the workshops, Google staff will cover online marketing for small businesses, search engine optimization, email basics and coding. Attendees can also sign up for one-on-one training with Google staff. People can attend select sessions or the entire workshop.

According to a news release from the company, Google will also train library staff and nonprofit leaders on free Google tools and curriculum.
