Curious about the younger days of Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars mythology? Marvel Comics is set to release a five-issue miniseries focusing on actor Donald Glover’s take on a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming “Solo: A Star War Story” at Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm.
“Lando: Double or Nothing” will take place before the events of “Solo” and it will deal with an incident right before the film, with backstory about Lando and the robot L3-37 (voiced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge).
Rodney Barnes (“Falcon”) is writing the work with further creative talent to be announced at a later date. Worried about spoilers for the film? Marvel will launch the miniseries the Wednesday after the Ron Howard-directed film arrives in cinemas on May 25th to avoid any potential spoilers.
Here are some reactions to Lando getting a prequel comic book ahead of Solo: A Star Wars Story.

I just learned that there’s going to be a new #Lando comic!!! The last #StarWars comic to follow him in 2015 was a fun ride, so I’m excited to see where they take the character. pic.twitter.com/sGUYy9ohP4

As for the film, Glover said Star Wars fans will see a Lando who is trying harder to prove himself:
I think he’s probably a little more over the top because he’s not old enough to be like, you don’t have to push so hard by the time you own the city. By then he’s like, I don’t need to prove anything to anybody, you know?
Solo: A Star Wars Story features Hail, Caesar’s Alden Ehrenreich as Han, with Atlanta’s Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and The Force Awakens‘ Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. Woody Harrelson is playing Han’s mentor, a man by the name of Beckett, while Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, Westworld’s Thandie Newton, and Fleabag‘s Phoebe Waller-Bridge also star.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is coming to theaters on May 25, 2018.
