A few years ago we started a Facebook group called “Programming Jokes”. The plan was to post text, images and short videos that make fun of the programmer lifestyle.
I did not expect much at the time. It blew up organically. With no promotions or any paid advertising it hit:
– 129,797 total members
– 889 Posts in the last 30 days
– 19,674 Comments in the last 30 days
– 572,304 Reactions in the last 30 days
I feel like this might be a good opportunity and a skilled marketer can covert all this attention. Those look like decent numbers for me.
We are 2 people that filter the spam posts and delete unwanted comments. We never made money out of it. We tried to sell redbubble merch, but we lack marketing skills. We are both programmers.
Do you have any experience with this? I don’t know where else to ask.
Are there some companies you recommend? Are there companies that maybe find products to promote through the group cover? or maybe occasional ad posts?
Any ideas, feedback or suggestions are welcomed.
