If you have an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus that won’t start up, you are not alone. Apple has acknowledged a problem with a batch of handsets that means some iPhone purchased in the last year cannot be turned on.
Apple says that handsets bought between October 2018 to August 2019 are affected, and the problems stems from the failure of an unnamed component. The company has launched a free repair program for anyone experiencing the issue.

The company also says that anyone who believes that they have paid for a repair relating to the issue can get in touch for a refund. It stresses, however, that it is only iPhone 6s and 6s Plus handset from the specified period that are covered.
On a support page entitled “iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Service Program for No Power Issues”, Apple says:
Apple has determined that certain iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices may not power on due to a component that may fail. This issue only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between October 2018 to August 2019.
