Apple Launches iPhone 6s / 6s Plus Service Program For No Power Issue, Check To See If Your Phone Is Eligible For Free Repair

Apple has started a new repair program for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices. If you have one of those iPhones and find that it refuses to power on, you might be able to get it repaired for free.

Apple has determined that certain iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices may not power on due to a component that may fail. This issue only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between October 2018 to August 2019.

Depending on when they bought their iPhone, users might be covered as far as August of 2021, and Apple has a serial number checker online here for those who want to see if their device is one of those that is covered. If they do, getting in touch with Apple is all that’s needed to kick a repairs off.

Other details include:

Apple may restrict or limit repair to the original country or region of purchase.

If you believe your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus was affected by this issue, and you paid to repair your device, you can contact Apple about a refund.

This worldwide Apple program doesn’t extend the standard warranty coverage of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
