Apple TV+ Competitor, NBCUniversal’s Peacock Set to Launch in April


NBC’s streaming service subscription is set to be launched April 2020, with the company promoting exclusive content like The Office after the deal with Netflix expires.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Peacock will be an ad-supported video streaming platform that will have 15,000-plus hours of entertainment, with exclusive titles like Parks and Recreation, The Office and reboots such as Punky Brewster, Saved by the Bell and Battlestar Galactica.

The rest of the lineup includes Will & Grace, Top Chef, Superstore, Saturday Night Live, Psych, Monk, House, Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond, Downton Abbey, Cheers, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Bates Motel and 30 Rock.

There are also original content being produced, such as Angelyne, starring Emmy Rossum, Brave New World, starring Demi Moore, Dr. Death and a new Battlestar Galactica.

The exact date of launch is yet to be determined, as is the monthly subscription price. Apple TV+ is set to be launched at just $4.99 per month, but it’s free for 1 year if you bought an Apple TV, Mac, iPad or iPhone.
