CodeGuard is an online backup service with a powerful interface that ensures backup in minutes whilst continuously monitoring any changes made to the website and thus prevents websites from being compromised.
CodeGuard monitors, alerts and notifies the website owner about the changes required or made, according to company officials. Moreover, customers are alerted and notified by email when these changes do occur. This feature helps customers pre-empt a potentially disastrous situation for their website, according to company officials.
Research has found that one in a thousand websites face problems due to loss of data. In fact, recent times have shown that multi-million dollar companies have lost data due to reasons including a change in FTP credentials, unsolicited power outages, or simply mere human error.
“This backup service makes sure that all data is backed up on a regular basis and users are alerted anytime an unauthorized change occurs on the site. Not only does this prevent a website from being compromised, but the user also has the option of using the ‘point in time return’, where they can restore their site to a previously backed up version. CodeGuard uses secure connections like SFTP/SSH/SSL wherever possible and the annual vulnerability testing is carried out by an independent agency, for more accurate results. The backups of website data are stored on Amazon Web Services Simple Storage System, also known as S3. S3 boasts durability levels of 99 per cent which are achieved by distributing storage of data across multiple locations and facilities. To-date, there has not been any data breach, or a successful hack upon CodeGuard.
