RECOGNIZING LES SCHWAB TIRE STORES
You can buy car tires at a wide range of vendors, from big-box stores to web-based businesses. And while the tires themselves might be the same, both Consumer Reports and J. D. Power recently ranked Les Schwab Tires #1 when it comes to overall customer satisfaction. Factors considered in the rating survey of over 12,000 vehicle owners nationwide included the sales staff’s product knowledge and service, free perks such as mounting, balancing and tire rotation, along with installation quality, the waiting area and ease of checkout. Les Schwab operates in nine western states, including stores in Portola, Quincy and Susanville. No doubt customers who have been to either the Portola, Quincy or Susanville stores will agree that they are indeed number one when it comes to customer satisfaction, service and pricing.
MARKETING COMPANY OPENS
Josie Litchfield has recently launched a marketing company for small business based out of Quincy called Kata Marketing. Josie explained that Kata is a martial arts term referring to dedicated training and problem solving, which is where Josie starts with every new client. “Small businesses don’t have the resources to compete on the same scale as their competitors. We have to think smarter,” she explained. Josie has over 15 years of experience in small business and marketing. She spent 10 years as a development director of a non-profit and eight years as a marathon race director. She is also certified in advanced Google search engine optimization. She describes her marketing strategy as similar to a hotel with 50 different doors each opening to a different audience using social media, print media, Google, email, and in-person. “Most small businesses don’t have the time to be everywhere, and that’s where I come in.” For more information, visit KataMarketing.com.

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
Sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is Small Business Saturday, a day created to encourage holiday shoppers to buy from local businesses. Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday takes place each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
This special day is meant to draw attention to the importance of shopping at local businesses where consumers benefit by finding great new local products and services while supporting their local economies.
Like they do across the nation, our local small businesses contribute to our local economy by bringing growth and innovation to our communities while also providing employment opportunities.
These small businesses pride themselves on offering personable, hands-on, and memorable customer service. And if they don’t, chances are you know the store’s owner or manager and it’s a given that they will want to hear about that experience from you so they can address it quickly.
IT IS ONE SPECIAL DAY IN THE SHOP SMALL NATIONWIDE MOVEMENT THAT CELEBRATES SMALL BUSINESSES EVERY DAY AND HELPS COMMUNITIES THRIVE AND STAY VIBRANT. SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY IS A DAY DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES HERE IN PLUMAS COUNTY AND IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
