A marketing company that serves auto dealerships is planning 44 new jobs in town.
Rockville, Maryland-based DealerOn is investing $1.66 million to renovate an existing facility it rents in Grand Rapids, at 601 5th St. NW, according to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, or MEDC, yesterday.
The investment will go toward building renovations, furniture, fixtures, computers and IT over the next three years.
The company has won two major contracts with Dearborn-based Ford Motor Company and London-based Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and the company needs the renovation project to meet demand.
The company was considering its facility in Richardson, Texas or its headquarters for the project.
Incentives
MEDC awarded the company a $300,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant for the project.
The Grand Rapids-based economic development nonprofit The Right Place is offering staff time and resources in support of the project.
