The Indiana University School of Social Work ( IUSSW ), headquartered in Indianapolis, has a long and distinguished history that began in 1911. IUSSW offers the BSW , MSW and PhD programs in Social Work and the AS and BS programs in Labor Studies. The School has approximately 110 full-time faculty members on seven campuses and enrolls over 1,600 students in its programs statewide.

Job Summary
This position supports the IU School of Social Work ( SSW ) by strengthening its reputation, financial support, and sustainability. In collaboration with the Dean and/or the Dean’s designee, this position directs and manages all internal and external communications and marketing efforts for the IUSSW , directing brand management and the School’s overall image. This senior-level staff position creates, executes, and provides ongoing evaluation of comprehensive, unifying communications and marketing strategies across all campuses and programs of the School. The position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Social Work and closely collaborates with Program Directors, IT personnel, and the State-wide Recruitment Coordinator. The position makes decisions independently about strategies and methods to accomplish the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications
REQUIRED : Bachelor’s Degree in technical communications or writing, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field, plus 3-5 years of demonstrated excellence in communications, public relations, and/or marketing areas of experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Illustrator, In-Design, videography, photography, technology, web-site management, and Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ). Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information, as well as organizational and problem-solving skills. Abilities to track, manage, and direct multiple tasks, set priorities and work with a wide range of people are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in technical communications or writing, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
Remaining in a stationary position and computer usage for extended periods of time.
