Future + Suns, a full-service content agency based in Atlanta’s Ponce City Market, is hiring an experienced Full Stack Web Developer. Reporting to the Creative Director, s/he will work independently and in partnership with an in-house Graphic / Web Designer and various freelance contributors. The Web Developer will develop a variety of digital deliverables to fulfill the marketing, branding and social media objectives of corporate and commercial clients. We’re seeking someone interested in creating appealing and intuitive digital, web and app-based experiences that relay story and brand. We’re a small shop that welcomes friendly, motivated folks with a deep passion for functional content.
Requirements:
• Develop a variety of digital deliverables including custom WordPress sites, using custom and/or altered themes
• Partner strategically with designers, clients and freelance contributors
• Study and understand data related to the clients’ site and campaign traffic
• Expertise in User Experience testing and Conversion Rate Optimization
• Integrate third party apps into WordPress sites
• Ensure security and encryption of client sites
• Ability to create client logins, dashboards, custom views and reports
• Ability to create clickable prototypes for apps and digital / multimedia interfaces
Skills:
• Working knowledge of WordPress, PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript / JQuery
• Foundational knowledge in MySQL, WooCommerce and eCommerce enabling plug-ins
• Intermediate to advance knowledge of WordPress editor such as Beaver Builder, Elementor or Divi
• Prior experience on site development projects, developing themes from scratch as well as customizing existing themes
• An online portfolio of custom web development work
• Proficiency in utilizing development tools, application support software, and hardware platforms
• Strong knowledge of web development tools and programming languages
• Knowledge and experience in search engine optimization techniques
• Ability to guide clients through technical troubleshooting during development phase
• Craft innovative solutions to make sites visually appealing while enhancing usability
• Devise custom solutions for clients, on an as-needed basis
• Current on emerging technologies, software and cloud-based solutions that benefit both process and outcomes for agency and clients
• Unafraid to get into lines of code to troubleshoot bugs when warranted
Preferred Qualifications:
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
• Previous agency experience a plus, but not required
• Strong client-facing communication skills
• 4-5 years Web Development experience
• Strategic thinker committed to setting things up right the first time
• High aptitude: capacity to accurately assess complex problems and prescribe/implement both simple and complex solutions
• High emotional literacy: ability to interface with colleagues and clients with finesse, warmth and ease
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Enjoys working with fellow creatives in a production-oriented environment
