Over the past 24-48 hours, I’ve been seeing some chatter amongst the SEO communities, a bit more in the black hat space, but still chatter. Chatter of a Google search algorithm update touching down the past couple of days.
Some are saying it reversed their Medic Update downfalls while others aren’t sure if it is related to that. This is all really new and most of the tracking tools show almost no fluctuations over the past day or so. Some of the tools do show the fluctuations but most don’t.
The WebmasterWorld and Black Hat World communities have this to say:

Hit me big time. Top 10 ranking pages are now on page 2 -3.

All my rankings are the same as before the Dickme Update. Same algorithm methinks.
Well, that would explain yesterday’s increase in traffic over last year. Today, though, is also considerably higher than last year, so we’ll see how it goes.
The chatter is not huge, it is not at levels of a larger update, but it is more chatter than the norm. Maybe it is a tweak, maybe it is a smaller more targeted update or maybe it is nothing. It is hard to tell so early on.
