Every few weeks, I like to jump online and find trending content ideas for my readers. I know with competition being so high, it’s important I stay ahead of the trend to ensure things go as smoothly as possible. If I stop producing the type of content my readers are looking for, I’ll have a hard time increasing my brand and building customer loyalty. I have an idea of the type of content that resonates well, but it’s important to keep tweaking this type of content. For example, I know how to content is amazing to build engagement, but it’s important to know what EXACTLY people want to learn. If I keep writing the same old things, my readers are going to start engaging less, lowering my overall flow of traffic.
Over the last several weeks, I’ve been trying publishing different types of content on both my website and through guest blogging. Its impressive how content is changing and how certain formats generate traffic more quickly. If you’re looking to jump start your blog, then try implementing these marketing ideas.
How-To Content
This type of content continues to be the most popular online and much of it has to do with the user search pattern. If you do keyword research, you’ll find phrases with the highest volume are based on how to solve a problem. This means when people head over to Google, they are looking for solutions to common problems. However, what’s changed is the way these people are searching because they focus more on long-tail and LSI keywords. If you want to jump start your blog, then focus on how-to types of content solving a common problem in your niche. You can even try it out for yourself by typing a keyword within Google and skim through the first page results. You’ll find the searches provide solutions to common problems. Here are a few things to consider when writing this content format.
Focus on:
- How to use products
- Search a common customer problem and solve it
- How to get more out of a popular product
Trending News
One of the highest searches in online marketing is “Google News” because what they change affects us enormously. However, this is for online marketing so you might want to consider providing trending news for your niche. It’s hard to find up-to-date news and people often have to skim through the web, looking for a reliable source. If you are an expert in your niche, then consider creating a portal for the latest and greatest news. Implementing such a strategy doesn’t have to be difficult because you have top network with companies that matter. If you can connect with people who work in the press release department of niche related companies, you can be getting news quicker than anyone else. All that’s left is for you or an editor is to write it out and hit publish.
Here are some things to focus on:
- New company regulations
- New laws being passed
- New technology being introduced into the market
- Influential people in your niche
Introduce Products
It’s an enormous business to simply introduce visitors to new products in the market. Just like people are looking for solutions to their problems, they are also looking for products to help make things easier. In my niche of online marketing, I’m shocked at how many people use tools before writing content. They use them to do keyword research, scan competition, publish content, track keyword rank, streamline social media, etc. Even though you might not use tools when blogging, you can still provide people an outlet to find new products entering the market. You will want to contact the product designer for a FREE trial to test out the product before writing a review. The funny thing is many product designers are more than happy to give you a free trial because it’s marketing for them. Next,
Work out a deal so you get paid each time someone purchases a product through your affiliate link or blog.
Here are some great ideas:
- Discuss product features
- Compare products
- Write an in-depth review, exploring features, price, and how to use it effectively
- Include videos
General Insight
This only works well if you’re an expert in your niche and have been in the industry for years. Beginners respect the opinion of those with experience so you can simply find a trending topic and write on it. For example, I visit JohnChow.com because I know he will show me how to make money online. He has a track record of success so I would listen to him compared to others without any solid proof. Many people have done quite well by simply providing their opinion in a niche but you have to be careful how you approach this business model. For example, just writing about anything won’t generate the buzz you’re expecting. You have to do research and make sure it’s content people are looking for.
Focus on the following when providing general insight:
- Write about new industry trends
- Provide your expertise on the topic
- Provide future predictions on trends
- If you have statistics or a case study, then showcase it to your visitors
- Get other authorities to provide their opinion
