Harry Potter’s J.K. Rowling Teaches Donald Trump Lesson On Privilege As Part Of NFL, NBA Discussion

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has continued to voice her thoughts about President Donald Trump. Recently, the president took time to talk about NFL players kneeling during the national anthem as a form of protest for social justice. Then, Trump took to Twitter to talk about the Golden State Warriors debating appearing at the White House resulting in him rescinding an invitation to them.

Rowling added her voice to others on social media condemning Trump for his thoughts on NFL players protesting during the national anthem by taking a knee. After Trump tweeted about how players who have the “privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL” should not be allowed to protest, Rowling fired back: “‘Privilege.’ Some people don’t get given millions by Daddy, Donnie. They actually earn it.”

It all began when Trump was speaking out on NFL players at a rally in Alabama for Senator Luther Strange’s reelection campaign. During the speech, Trump ranted about NFL players.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out. He’s fired. He’s fired!’” Trump said. “You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s going to say, ‘That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it. They don’t know it. They’ll be the most popular person, for a week. They’ll be the most popular person in this country.”

Trump also claimed lower NFL ratings are occurring because of penalties designed to protect players from head injuries. But, he added, “you know what’s hurting the game more than that? When people like yourselves turn on television and you see those people taking the knee when they are playing our great national anthem. The only thing you could do better is if you see it, even if it’s one player, leave the stadium, I guarantee things will stop. Things will stop. Just pick up and leave. Pick up and leave. Not the same game anymore, anyway.”

Here are the tweets from Trump that kick started all this sports and politics debate.

This was not the first time Rowling has expressed her dislike for Trump. Almost two years ago when she said “Voldemort was nowhere near as bad” as the then-presidential candidate. Then she took aim at “fascist” Trump, adding, “God help us all.” Then another time she made comments about “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski “bleeding badly from a face lift” by tweeting him the Abraham Lincoln quote “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”

What did you think of Rowling’s response to Trump’s latest Twitter comments about NFL and NBA players and political beliefs? Whose opinions do you agree with? Let us know in the comments section.
