Every now and then, espesially if you do SEO for a living, you want to see how a site ranks in Google within a specific country or region. Of course you can try to use the Google Ad Preview and Diagnosis tool. But you can also use special URL parameters to see it as well.
Glenn Gabe via John Mueller of Google summed it up in a tweet:
Need to check rankings in a specific country? Via @johnmu: Use the local Google version (e.g. https://t.co/znRjqYeV1k), then add the url parameter &gl={country code}. You can also use hl={language code} to see the results in a specific language: https://t.co/7NI91gdMHZ pic.twitter.com/itjlyKJZFj
