I spoke to a well know marketer once over lunch.

He had seen sweet success online.
But he said how the most glorious day seemed spoiled the moment he had one unsubscribe on his email list. I am not kidding. Dude flipped out over a single person unsubscribing from his email list amid his huge, lasting success.
I agree. Or, the old me agreed. I had some nice success but felt irked, irritated, angry or outright rejected if someone decided not to be on my list. I had a fear of losing subscribers eventually dominating my love of gaining success because failure gradually overtook me and my blogging campaign.
During lean times – after seeing sweet success online – I was terrified to check my email inbox and email campaign metrics, too. I feared seeing goose eggs aka zeros but also felt horrified each time someone unsubbed from my email list. Does this fear seem rational? No. Fear is never rational. Fear is……fear. Wild, damaging, illusory and destructive.
Make the Shift from Fear to Love
I just offered advice to a few bloggers having a difficult time online. Only one person on the super long thread Liked my sound, solid advice. Turns out, he has followed me for years. He struggled, then turned it around, to see increasing success. It is obvious he no longer deeply fears loss but instead focuses on gain, growth and success. He loves to succeed. I see it through his quality content and through the value of his interactions.
You succeed online by shifting from a terror of loss to a love and fun of being generous, helping people and seeing gain in all you do.
Most bloggers feel terrified to lose subscribers, predominantly. Being burdened by this terror, they do everything they can to NOT LOSE, tip toeing around, ensuring they do not lose any people from their email list. How do things turn out for someone mainly fearing loss? Said blogger loses a lot because your dominant vibe-emotion-feeling mirrors back to you via your results.
But the blogger who blogs from a vibe of abundance, love, fun, peace and trust, sees more money and greater success through their email list. I noted 10 minutes ago how over 100 people already opened my latest email and I do not even build my list. No opt in form or active building for over a year. One person unsubscribed and one email bounced but since my fear of email list loss is pretty much non existent, I was not bothered by the unsub and bounce. I felt gain. I see gain. I feel good. I am blogging from energies of love, generosity, service, trust, helping tons of people for free and flat out enjoying the ride.
Of course, this abundant vibe helped me detach more from outcomes over the past few months. Naturally, I noticed more success over the past few months. This is no mistake. How you feel most of the time influences your actions and mirrors back to you via your results.
You Cannot Out Fake Your Feelings
You can lie to yourself until blue in the face, but if you fear losing subscribers you will not access the full power of your email list. 200 people can join your list today but if 3 unsubscribes bother you, predominantly, fear dominates your mind and list building efforts. If you genuinely and honestly dominate your mind with gain, love, trust, fun and ease, 30 people could unsubscribe from your email list and nobody could sign up today and you would feel awesome, successful, abundant and complete. Guess what? People who maintain this abundant, calm, poised vibe for a sustained period of time become 6, 7 and 8 figure earning bloggers.
As within, so without.
