In the battle of smart devices, one may compete for best smartphone makers, wearable makers or software makers. Topping all of them with one single common technology is the chipset maker, which runs all of such devices. While the nig makers like Nvidia, Intel, Snapdragon are finely moving with innovation in smartphones, IoT, etc, Huawei has launched a new AI chipset that may out beat all of them.
Ascend 910
Joining the current Ascend Max series, Ascend 910 is launched along with MindSpore, an advanced AI framework for AI-related technologies. Combining them both, they are two times faster in AI model training than any other mainstream cards in the market.
Ascend 910’s specs were announced last year, but it turned out to be outperforming the said specs by being more efficient and producing more computing power. Huawei claims it to be the best AI chipset in today’s market.
Speaking of it, Eric Xu, Huawei’s Rotating Chairman said, “We have been making steady progress since we announced our AI strategy in October last year. Everything is moving forward according to plan, from R&D to product launch. We promised a full-stack, all-scenario AI portfolio. And today we delivered, with the release of Ascend 910 and MindSpore. This also marks a new stage in Huawei’s AI strategy.“
