The world’s most popular photo-sharing app, Instagram is finally receiving the dark mode. After Google rolled out dark mode update in its various app (Chrome, Photos, Calendar, Keep), it seems all other developers are slowly joining this bandwagon. And as opposed to other apps, Instagram seems to have adopted the black theme pretty well. Everything from your feeds to the profile section will be turned dark. In the beginning, it was reported that users having their devices running on Android 10 could only enable this feature. But it turns out that is not exactly the case. Many Android 9.0 Pie users gave it a shot, with a varying degree of success. I too decided to try it on my Mi A2 running Android 9.0. As it turned out, Instagram with dark mode was up and running on my device.
But the scenario may be different for some of you out there. As is the case with other updates, this too seems to be a server-side update. So users in small batches seem to be receiving this update. Still, there is no harm in giving it a try. Also, another thing worth mentioning is the fact that the app is currently in the alpha stage, so you could face certain stability issues. If you still want to try it out, move over to the below section and get your hands on the latest version of Instagram. Moreover, the dark mode could even be enabled in Gmail as well. Take the help of our guide on How to Enable Dark Mode in Gmail for Android.
Download Instagram with Dark Mode Enabled
As mentioned before, this update is being rolled out in stages plus it is a server-side update. So even if you download and install the below APK, the success rate may vary from users to users. To make sure you don’t have to wait in the future for such updates, enroll to be a beta-tester for Instagram. In that case, you will be in a position to try out new updates before many other users. But then your app may not be as stable as it currently is. If you are ready to trade the stability of your app with new features, then give it a try.
Moreover, the best part of this update is you don’t have to enable the dark mode from Settings. Simply install it like any normal APK and if you are among the chosen few, the dark mode would have been automatically enabled on your Instagram. With that said, download the latest Instagram version from the below link:
Do let us in the comments below whether the dark mode was enabled on your Instagram app or not.
