It looks like a full iOS 12.4 jailbreak unc0ver for A12 and A12X devices is getting ever closer to a release.
That’s the belief after jailbreak developer Pwn20wnd shared via Twitter that “Everything is mainly done now including tweak injection.” That means that a jailbreak is functional and jailbreak tweaks can also be used.
That’s a big step. The same developer recently said that there were positive signs but that the required ducks weren’t yet in a row for tweaks. That seems to have changed and that’s pretty huge.
Equally as important is the fact that despite the arrival of iOS 12.4.1, Apple is still signing iOS 12.4. That in turn means that you can still downgrade devices to iOS 12.4. You might want to consider doing exactly that if you’re using iOS 12.4.1 currently but might want to jailbreak iOS 12.4 in the future. There’s no saying just how long Apple will continue to sign that particular IPSW.
In much the same vein, we don’t know how far off a workable jailbreak is from being released. Pwn20wnd saying that things are moving in the right direction is one thing but having something ready for the public to use is something completely different.
If you’re waiting for an iOS 12.4 jailbreak and have a device using an A12 or A12X device, these are definitely interesting times. Fingers crossed we have a jailbreak available before too long.
