Janice Freeman closed out the night with a cover of Brandi Carlile’s “The Story” on The Voice live playoffs in dedication to her husband. Janice said that her husband has taught her what love really means. At the end, Jennifer Hudson and Blake Shelton threw their shoes.
Blake said that Brandi is going what in the world. He noted that he has not taken his boots off in 10 years so that says it all. Miley Cyrus said that she is shaking and in tears. Miley was proud of Janice and said that she delivered and told the story. Miley called it her favorite performance.
What did you think of the performance on The Voice? Let us know in the comments section.
When Janice was 21 years old, her daughter, Hannah, was born. A few years later, when her daughter was only four, Hannah’s father passed away from cancer. It was really tough being a single mom, but it taught her how to be strong. Janice needed the strength because in 2012 she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She fought it and survived. In the midst of all the tragedy, she met her wonderfully supportive husband. They have been married for two years, and he even gigs locally with her and her band. Having gone through so much, she is so thankful to be cancer-free and happily married, but needs this shot at a music career to provide stability for Hannah.

“The Voice,” which has won four Emmys for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season.
Superstar singer, songwriter, actress and pop-culture icon Miley Cyrus returns as a coach this season with Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe-winning recording artist and Broadway star Jennifer Hudson taking a red chair alongside the show’s returning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and host Carson Daly. The show’s innovative format features five stages of competition: the first begins with the blind auditions, then the battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs and, finally, the live performance shows.
In the final live performance phase of the competition, the Top 12 artists will compete each week against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. Three artists with the lowest number of votes will be eligible for the “Instant Save.” These artists will each perform a new song that represents why they should earn the save. America will then have the opportunity to save their favorite performer by tweeting out #VoiceSave along with the artist’s name. The singers with the lowest number of votes will be sent home each week. In the end, one will be named “The Voice” and will receive the grand prize of a recording contract.
