Jet Suit Solent
British inventor Richard Browning, also known as “Rocket Man”, has successfully completed a historic flight over the Solent from the UK (Hurst Castle) to the Isle Of Wight (Fort Albert). Weighing around 55-pounds, this jet-powered suit consists of five micro gas turbines capable of producing more than 1,000 bhp combined, strapped to the wearer’s hands, forearms and rear. When turned on, they propel the rider upwards and into the air. Read more for the video and additional information.

What makes this journey across the Solent so historic? It’s the furthest flight that the inventor has attempted, and he managed to achieve speeds of up to 60mph, allowing him to cross the 1.3 km body of water in just 75-seconds before safely touching down. So far, he’s demonstrated the suit in over 20 countries around the world.

“Since launching Gravity in 2017, we have not stopped challenging the status quo. Restlessly pioneering developments in STEM, today’s patent issuance is a giant milestone for Gravity which will enable us to continue to innovate and hopefully inspire others,” said Browning.
