JumpCrew — which supports advertising sales for companies like Twitter, as well as marketing and lead generation — has appointed Gordy Casasco to vice president of search engine optimization
(SEO) and content as part of a strategy to build its marketing services.
“Be patient,” Casasco said. “That’s the best piece of advice I ever received. I have a natural
inclination to be impatient and go after things more aggressively.”
The advice, which came from Casascso’s dad, has paid off in recent years.
Casasco’s appointment is
part of JumpCrew’s strategy to hire 100 people in 100 days. The company has about 300 hundred employees, of which 15 report into Casasco. The company expanded its workforce by 200% and secured
$5.4 million in Series A funding in
2018.

Prior to JumpCrew, Casasco served as associate director of SEO at digital agency Huge, supporting brands such as Dolby, Google, Four Seasons, and Verizon.
At JumpCrew, Casasco
plans to put together a team to develop new products and services around voice marketing, such as Alexis Skills, or any other voice application. Some of the services compete with larger companies like
IPG Mediabrands, as well as Red Ventures that offer similar services.
Casasco said JumpCrew has internal resources to develop strategies around voice marketing. His team will work
closely with the team of Dmitriy Gamarnik, who joined JumpCrew in December 2018 as director of paid search and social from digital media company Ziff Davis.
When asked to cite the
biggest challenge he expects to face this year, Casasco said keeping up with technology and finding the correct partners to work with.
The most inspiring book might surprise some marketing. He
cited “Let My People Go Surfing” written by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard for the similarities in the way he treats the environment and his employees. “He has a vision other than
just making money,” Casasco said.
