Kanye West saying that being black is a “choice” and that he was planning on bleaching his skin to be white is satirical news. There is no truth behind a report that the American rapper, entrepreneur and fashion designer had furthered some previous controversial comments by suggesting that being black is a “choice” and that he would pursue bleaching in order to make himself white.
Where did this satirical news originate? Huzlers published the satirical news article on May 6, 2018, reporting that West continued his controversial statements of supporting President Donald Trump and referring to slavery by suggesting that being black is a “choice.” You can read the satire below.
CALABASAS – “Being black is a choice”. Yup, that is what rapper Kanye West said in a small street interview outside his Calabasas home Saturday afternoon. Only another absurd statement that can be added to Kanye’s already large collection.
In the midst of the controversy surrounding Kanye and his absurd racial statements and support for Trump, Kanye is definetly on a role. “If y’all don’t like being black because you’re a victim of a racism, then you shouldn’t have chose to be black, i made the wrong decision so I’m going to turn white”, said Yeezy, who then went on to explain he was going to bleach his skin. We’re not sure if Kanye is only looking i impress Trump but it might certainly work.
However, there is no truth to the story. Note that the above story lacks details on the publication that carried this interview and contains spelling errors. There is no legitimate news coverage of West having made such an outrageous statement though West has been known to provoke with his comments. Take a look at this fun article from EOnline! about some of the rapper’s most infamous quotes. Finally, and most importantly, Huzlers carries the following disclaimer on its website clearly identifying its contents’ intentions:

The satire finds its basis in West’s statement about slavery. “When you hear about slavery for 400 years … For 400 years? That sounds like a choice. You were there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all. It’s like we’re mentally imprisoned,” West said. For West, provocative statements are second nature and part of his brand. Earlier, West made headlines for proclaiming his love for Trump. It would certainly seem that these latest ones are offending many and seem very ill-informed with regards to this country’s history.
Saturday Night Live mocked West’s recent comments in a parody of “A Quiet Place” called “A Kanye Place.” In the SNL sketch, a group of friends attempt to stay quiet so as not to attract murderous monsters, much like the story for the John Krasinski and Emily Blunt thriller. But that task proved difficult once a character played by episode host Donald Glover found West’s recent tweets about Trump. Watch it below.
