Mickie James proved she still has it in her WWE TLC match with Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. In the end, Alexa still holds the belt despite the all-world efforts of James. James’ three consecutive kip-ups each time Alexa slammed Mickie onto the mat were certainly a far cry from geriatric, to say nothing of the savage elbows and pinpoint kicks that James thought would carry her to Title No. 7.
Alexa resorted to dirty tactics by nearly yanking James’ arm out of its socket before focusing exclusively on a torturous array of shoulder submissions. Despite being clearly hampered by the injury, James transitioned seamlessly to using both her educated feet and her good arm, pausing only occasionally for a high-risk maneuver like a top-rope dropkick.
Bliss yanked Mickie face-first into the turnbuckle and striking with a DDT to put the match away. An emotional James promised WWE fans this would not be the last time she contended for a Women’s Title.

Samoa Joe is portrayed as an ambitious up-and-comer. Mickie James is strongly separated from the roster by age.
They are both 37. #WWETLC

Mickie James will have the opportunity to reclaim her former glory and capture her seventh Women’s Title when she steps into the squared circle against the very formidable Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss at WWE TLC tonight.
Ironically, when Mickie returned to WWE this past January, it was to help Alexa retain the gold when she was part of SmackDown LIVE. However, the reemerging Superstar quickly learned what so many ladies have found out the hard way: The “goddess of WWE” only has one loyal friend where the title is concerned: herself. While that approach might not seem so nice, you can’t argue with the results of a proven winning strategy.
However, after retaining her Raw Women’s Title in a Fatal 5-Way Match in September at WWE No Mercy, Alexa once again drew the ire of the celebrated competitor when she made the mistake of bad-mouthing Mickie on a post pay-per-view edition of Raw Talk. Dismissing Mickie as being an “old lady” the following week on Raw, her words were met with a pair of slaps and a fierce kick that sent Little Miss Bliss tumbling out of the ring.
Following some backstage antics at her expense one week later, Mickie went on to fight a tough battle against Alexa’s on again/off again best friend, Nia Jax. When Alexa got involved, Mickie walked away with the victory by disqualification.
