At this year’s IFA, Lenovo owned Motorola introduced the brand new Motorola One Zoom mid-ranger. Also, along with the mid-range device, the company also outed the budget E6 Plus. Both smartphones bring along a display notch. However, it is the One Zoom that’s touting a capable camera and a decent Super AMOLED.
Motorola One Zoom: Zoom On!
Capable quad-cam system
The highlighting feature of the new Motorola One Zoom is its quad-camera setup at the back. As in we do have a 48MP optically stabilized primary camera featuring a bright f/1.7 lens. Then there’s an 8MP telephoto camera which also is optically stabilized and brings 3X optical zoom. Wrapping up the camera setup is a 16MP wide-angle camera and a 5MP depth sensor. To spice things up, the Motorola Batwing logo below the camera module acts a notification LED which is super cool.
Flipping the Motorola One Zoom reveals a 25MP selfie camera housed on the water-drop notch.
Both primary and front cams are able to record videos at a resolution of up to 2160p @ 30 fps and 1080p @ 30 fps respectively.
Notched Super AMOLED, SD 675, in-display fps and more
Providing performance is a Qualcomm baked Snapdragon 675 chipset. As for storage, there’s only one option and that’s a generous 128GB of internal memory. Speaking of which, the internal storage can be expanded by a dedicated MicroSD card slot. Also as far as RAM is concerned, again, we only get an Okish 4GB of RAM.
Colors come to life and pop out on the 6.4″ Super AMOLED touchscreen featuring a Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2340). The aspect ratio is 19.5:9. Speaking of which, for display protection, a Panda King glass is used instead of the well-known Gorilla variety. To be honest, we are hearing the former for the first time.
Lenovo has decided to equip an under-display fingerprint sensor in the Motorola One Zoom. Also, the Motorola One Zoom is splash resistant.
Motorola One Zoom Battery, connectivity and OS
A 4000 mAh power unit is sealed inside the Motorola One Zoom. Motorola’s known TurboPower is onboard. “TurboPower” is the company’s fast charging technology (15W). Charging is carried out via the USB-C port.
As far as connectivity is concerned, the Motorola One Zoom comes with Dual SIM. Dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac is here. Bluetooth 5.0 LE along with GPS for navigation and location services. As for the headphone jack, audiophiles will be happy to know that the Motorola One Zoom comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.
It is a no-brainer that the Motorola One Zoom ships with Stock Android 9.0 Pie.
Pricing, availability, and paints
The Motorola One Zoom will set you back €400 which translates to INR 31,900 (too much for India). The Motorola One Zoom will be available for purchase in the coming days and weeks. Color options available are Bronze, Grey, and Purple.
Motorola E6 Plus: Budget refreshed
Display, chipset, and storage
Lenovorola freshened up their entry-level device at IFA 2019 with the unveiling of the Motorola E6 Plus. The Motorola E6 Plus comes with a 6.1″ HD+ 720 x 1560 IPS panel. The aspect ratio of the screen is 19.5:9 and is notched.
As far as the chipset is concerned, we have a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC ticking inside. As for storage, a choice of either 32GB or 64GB is available. The RAM options are 2GB and 4GB depending upon the available storage variant.
A rear-mounted fingerprint reader is embedded into the popular Motorola Batwing logo.
Basic camera with depth sensor
A 13MP rear camera is onboard along with a 2MP depth sensor. Coming to the front, we have an 8MP module for selfies. Both rear and front-facing camera systems are able to record videos at a resolution of up to Full HD @ 30 fps.
Motorola Battery and OS
A 3000mAh battery is onboard the Motorola E6 Plus which is not ok. To make things worse, the obsolete Micro-USB port and 5W charging are present here.
Stock and fresh Android 9.0 Pie boots the Motorola E6 Plus.
Price and colors
The Motorola E6 Plus is priced at €139 and will be available in various parts of the world over time. The paint jobs available are Polished Graphite, Bright Cherry and Dark Red.
