Reasons Why We Love WordPress

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”

The poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning had it right. There are many ways to love. There are also many ways and reasons to love WordPress. It’s free. It’s an open-source platform to which anyone can contribute. It connects people. As a website design and development agency that specializes in WordPress, it should come as no surprise that WebDevStudios loves WordPress. What better day than Valentine’s Day to profess our admiration and adoration?

Here are the reasons why we love and choose WordPress.

Oh, the things we can build…

Brad Williams, CEO

“I love the freedom that WordPress gives everyone with the ability to create any type of web application imaginable and still own your own data. Open-source FTW!”

“I love WordPress for its extensibility, giving developers and users the ability to customize their own experience based on the needs of their organization through thousands of available plugins and themes, as well as custom development.”

“I love that WordPress allows me to build a powerful website for a client, but then I can turn it over to them, even the non-tech savvy ones, to continue adding their content. From development to the website owner, the process is streamlined, efficient, and simple.”

Jo Murgel, Frontend Developer

“I love WordPress because there really isn’t anything better. It supports open-source fully, and no matter where I go, WordPress always ends up being the platform of choice for any and every client.”

User-friendly for people who don’t code

Jodie Riccelli, Director of Client Strategy

“WordPress gave me confidence. At a time when I was trying to figure out what the next steps in my career were going to be, I found WordPress. It taught me that I could build beautiful things for the internet which is something I didn’t know I could do. Today, it is the center of my career and for that I am grateful.”

Shayda Torabi, Director of Marketing

“I love WordPress because my life is ever so intricately weaved around it. I first started using the platform over a decade ago as a blogger, and gradually as WordPress’ functionality increased, so did my knowledge of the platform. That turned into me getting a full-time job in the space, and now I have a career because of it. Not to mention it’s now the leading CMS by a long shot, so it feels good to work on a platform that is so well respected by large brands. But from the community side, I’ve also met so many people I call dear friends and have gotten to travel to new cities and countries all in the name of WordPress. It’s the best relationship I’ve ever been in!”

Laura Coronado, Communications Specialist

“As a user, I fell in love with WordPress because the platform is so much more professional-looking, conveying trustworthiness and expertise, than others. When not working at WDS, I blog about shoes, shopping, and Las Vegas. I want to look like a pro blogger and not some fly-by-night amateur one. WordPress allows me to accomplish that.”

The WordPress community is AWESOME

Jay Wood, Lead Backend Developer

“Why do I love WordPress? The community. Simple! (Oh, and documentation… it’s amazing and was way easier to learn.)”

Justin Foell, Senior Backend Developer

“The WordPress community is more diverse (and friendlier) than any other open-source project I’ve worked on.”

Russell Aaron, Support Technician

“I love WordPress because you can meet someone in your local community who is willing to show you the ropes and introduce you to Meetups”

Jeremy Ward, Backend Developer

“The community is honestly the best part of WordPress.”
