Roseanne Barr being hired as the new White House Press Secretary after her show’s cancellation by ABC is satirical news. There is no truth to a report that Sarah Sanders was being replaced by Barr now that she is not busy. ABC pulled the plug on the Roseanne revival after Roseanne Barr described former President Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett as the child of the “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes.”

Where did this satirical news originate? The Beaverton published the satirical news article on May 29, 2018, reporting that Barr’s recent Twitter rants got her fired from her television job but landed her a position as the new White House Press Secretary. You can read the satirical news article below.

WASHINGTON D.C. — After her rebooted sitcom was cancelled by ABC following the star’s racist tweets, actress Roseanne Barr has been hired as press secretary for the Trump White House.

The tweets, which referred to former Obama administration adviser Valerie Jarrett as a combination of the “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes” were enough for ABC to cancel the popular sitcom within hours. However, they were well-received by Trump officials.

“Tweeting out barely-veiled racism isn’t a negative in the Trump White House. It’s practically a prerequisite,” said senior policy advisor Stephen Miller. “With her blend of fake populism and unhinged conspiracy-mongering, Roseanne is going to fit right in here.”

Roseanne will take over for former press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who despite being fired is reportedly amazed to have lasted as long as she did. “Suck it, Spicer,” Huckabee Sanders shouted, as she handed her podium over to the former TV star.

However, there is no truth to the above story. Of course, the White House has not released any statement that Sanders was being replaced by Barr. Recently, Sanders said that President Donald Trump did not intend to defend Barr’s racist comments in a tweet. Sanders said “no one is defending” Barr’s racist tweet.

Finally, and most importantly, The Beaverton carries the following disclaimer on its site:

The Beaverton is a news satire and parody publication . All articles contained within this website, however similar to real events, are fictitious. When public figures are mentioned by name, the corresponding story details are invented. In all other cases, any resemblance to actual persons or events is entirely coincidental.

Here are some examples of people sharing the satirical news on social media.

Barr attacked Jarrett, a senior adviser to Obama, in a since-deleted tweet in which she said “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” Barr subsequently apologized: “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me — my joke was in bad taste.” Barr’s job status remains uncertain.

Currently, EW reported that there is a possibility that ABC would move forward with a series starring some of the characters from “Roseanne.” The problem with that is “Roseanne” was created by Barr. If the sitcom were to continue without the matriarch, the actress would still benefit financially.
