Dimitrios Pagourtzis, the shooter behind the Santa Fe, Texas, high school shooting confessing his love for former President Barack Obama is satirical news. There is no truth to a report that the suspect involved in the killing of 10 people and wounding of 10 others at a Texas high school had confessed his love for Obama. Obama has been the subject of many fake news, tweets, photographs and memes.
Where did this satirical news originate? The Daily World Update published the satirical news article on May 19, 2018, reporting that the shooter behind the recent Texas high school murders was a liberal and that he had made a confession to police that he loves Obama. You can read the satirical news below.
The 17-year-old murderer who gunned down 10 people in cold blood was originally reported to be a Muslim, then a member of MS-13. In the very least we thought his ethnic name meant there would be some reason to be able to tie him to something other than right-wing terrorism. Now we have that reason.
Dimitrius Pagopogouritz is a liberal whose immigrant parents raised him on welfare in the projects of San Dimas. In a leaked interview with police after the shooting, he admitted he was an Obama-loving moonbat who was looking to “end gun violence” by adding another shooting:
“I just figured if I caused enough damage maybe my school could be the next Parkland.”
However, there is no truth to the above story. What is the problem with the story to make it false? Of course, there was no legitimate news coverage of any link between the Santa Fe murderer and Obama. For one thing, the Texas shooter is not named “Dimitrius Pagopogouritz” but rather Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, who admitted to police that he did not shoot people he liked and meant to kill the ones he did target. Henry was denied bail and is accused of capital murder of multiple people and aggravated assault on a public servant.
The above story also showed indicators of his falseness by claiming a source within the “Texas Rangers Inner-City Cooperative,” which does not exist, and providing a non-existent quote attributed to Chuck Norris, the American martial artist, actor, film producer and screenwriter. Both of these examples showed that the story was leaning towards satire rather than providing any actual facts to support the outrageous claim.
Finally, and most importantly, Daily World Update carries the following disclaimer:
sat·ire
ˈsaˌtī(ə)r
noun
The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
Here is an example of someone sharing the satirical news on social media.
