Seo Hee Ham set to defend Road FC belt against former Invicta title challenger

After two years plying her trade against much bigger opponents in the UFC, Seo Hee Ham dropped back to a more natural weight class last June. No longer dealing with a significant size and strength disadvantage, the 5-foot-2 fighter shined as she took home the Road FC atomweight title with a TKO victory in front of her Korean fans.

Ham will look to continue her reign at the 105 lb division with her first title defense being officially booked for Road FC 45. As Bloody Elbow has learned, she will be facing former Invicta FC title challenger Jinh Yu Frey, and will be headlining a card that will once again exclusively feature all female fighters.

Frey (6-2) is an American fighter that has competed 6 times with Invicta FC. She challenged for the promotion’s title in 2016, losing to to Ayaka Hamasaki by doctor stoppage due to a cut. She has since rebounded with a win over Ashley Cummins last July, and hinted on the Road FC booking on social media.

The two top ranked atomweights are set to clash on December 23, in a bout that will have a significant impact on the division. The event is officially dubbed as Road FC 045 XX, with Road FC 37 being their last ‘XX’ event that featured an all-female main card.
