Summary:
- Rodale is seeking a Search Engine Optimization Manager to join its Audience Engagement team to drive the search strategy for the company’s portfolio of world-class health and wellness sites, including Men’s Health, Women’s Health and Runner’s World.
- This person will be responsible for optimizing one of the network’s largest content distribution channels, identifying tactical opportunities to grow search traffic, continually monitoring and optimizing search-related efforts, and driving improvements in process, technology, and workflows with the goal of improving the visibility of and traffic to Rodale editorial and commerce sites via search.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with branded content creators to maximize the search traffic potential for all content
- Educate and provide regular feedback to editorial teams on headlines, image tags, meta, title tags, and URL structure
- Provide recommendations to editorial teams related to keyword and content trends, and report on the performance of specific pieces of content
- Develop strategies to optimize news stories in the fast-paced, “viral” digital media environment
- Provide SEO feedback during development of new products and site features
- Collaborate with product and IT teams on new products and about changes to existing site structures and content offerings with the goal of maximizing search traffic
- Analysis and implementation of best practices for on-site SEO including site maps and architecture, and the identifying and resolving of 404s, duplicate content, and missing meta, via industry tools and services
- Document SEO guidelines and provide internal training to editorial and product teams to implement the latest SEO techniques
- Provide ongoing reports to digital and marketing team members related to search traffic and keyword performance, ROI, website traffic levels and customer acquisition
- Find new opportunities to maximize SERP for strategic topics/keywords
- Develop link strategies and/or direct marketing relationships with off-network sites
Qualification:
- 3+ years of SEO/SEM experience
- Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and Webmaster tools, and experience with the BrightEdge platform
- Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams including editorial, analytics, product and development
- Demonstrated success improving search visibility, rankings, and traffic for a digital property or properties
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills
- A passion for remaining up-to-date on changes and emerging technologies/practices in the search world
