York digital marketing agency Edge45 has appointed search engine specialist John Readman as non-executive director.
The appointment marks a significant milestone in the growth of the company which was founded by Colin Docherty in 2015.
Edge45 make their clients’ websites more visible on the internet to attract customers and generate sales.
Their digital marketing services include search engine optimisation, pay per click, conversion rate optimisation and social media advertising.
Employing a team of five, they have grown a large portfolio of clients across the UK including, Kopparberg, Glencor Golf and Langleys Solicitors, helping them to increase their website traffic and generate more income through online sales.

With a masters degree in mechanical engineering, Mr Docherty is shaping an agency with a difference.
Having worked with leading agencies on large accounts such as Superdry, Wilkos, Square Enix and Axa Insurance, he believes that the key to unlocking a team’s potential is caring equally for employees and clients.
He is focused on the wellbeing and development of his team, strongly believing that by providing a positive and supportive working environment and enabling the team to thrive, they will provide an unparalleled, customer focused service to clients.
As an advocate of these values, and with over 20 years’ experience of helping digital marketing agencies to grow, John will be helping to oversee the next stage of the business’s growth.
Growing agencies
John has already been responsible for the growth of several digital agencies including Summit Media and Search Laboratory.
He helped Search Laboratory grow from a small Leeds based agency to having offices in London and New York and working with many leading household names such as Asos, Boohoo, Superdry and House of Fraser.
