Snapchat 3D Selfie iPhone
Snapchat has just introduced a new 3D selfie mode that enables iPhone X users and above to create Snaps that change in perspective as well as appearance based on how you move your phone. This mode relies on Apple’s TrueDepth camera system and works by combining image and depth data from the this system to reconstruct a 3D model that looks and feels like a miniature model of your face. Users can then give it life by rotating or jiggling their handset as well as add 3D effects, lenses and filters. Read more for a video and additional information.

To access this new feature, simply follow these steps: Update the Snapchat app to the latest version, open the Snapchat camera, select the dropdown menu on the right, select “3D”, take a selfie, swipe to add 3D Lenses / Filters, and then share to your Stories / Chat, or save to your iPhone camera roll to share elsewhere.

“With the introduction of depth and interaction, Snaps can capture even more detail about how the world looks and how you feel. Together with our new 3D Effects, this feature adds a new layer of expression to bring your Snaps to life in a way that’s a step closer to the real thing,” said Andrew McPhee, senior manager at Snap Inc.
