TV Insider is seeking a full-time writer/producer who can cover television with the interest of a fan, but the skills of a seasoned writer. Reporting to the Managing Editor, this person will be responsible for producing original content, conducting interviews, and aggregating news stories for TVInsider.com. He or she will leverage his/her strong sense of audience interest in TV and entertainment to monitor content flow and highlight top stories on the website.
Responsibilities:
•Pitch and write 5 – 10 stories daily for the website
•Pitch and execute long-term projects around television-industry events, including the Primetime Emmys, New York and San Diego Comic-Con, Golden Globes, TCA, and more
•Spot and quickly react to news trends using sources such as Google Trends, Twitter, Facebook and other platforms
•Utilize available tools, including but not limited to, photo galleries and video to create content for the site.
•Work closely with Managing Editor to push content from magazines to web
•Use Google Analytics and Chartbeat to spot trends and identify opportunities for TV Insider
Desired Skills and Requirements:
• 2-3 years experience as a digital writer/producer, preferably for an entertainment media company
•Ability to multitask and effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
•Must be knowledgeable and passionate about TV trends and pop culture
•Familiarity with WordPress or a comparable CMS platform
•Strong knowledge of search engine optimization practices and familiarity with Google Trends and other SEO tools
•Television network and PR contacts, a plus
•Experience with basic HTML
