The Karcher Group (TKG), a marketing and web design company in North Canton, has acquired Pole Position Marketing (PPM), a digital marketing agency in Uniontown.
TKG announced the acquisition in a news release on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Details of the transaction weren’t disclosed.
The move bolsters TKG’s capabilities in search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising and content marketing, the release said.
PPM’s four employees will join TKG’s 34, and PPM’s owner, Stoney deGeyter, will take on the role of vice president of search and advertising at TKG, officials said.
“Teaming up with Stoney deGeyter and his expert team from PPM will no doubt give us the opportunity to continue advancing our existing search and SEO practices,” said TKG president Geoff Karcher said in a statement. “This acquisition greatly complements TKG’s offerings and adds to our ability to best serve our clients.”
DeGeyter, meanwhile, said that the deal will offer more value to PPM’s clients.
“I have always believed that digital marketing is just too big for one — or even a few — people to know everything at an expert level,” deGeyter said in the release. “We have always sought to grow experts in specific silos of digital marketing. That mindset made partnering with The Karcher Group an easy choice. Both agencies have been operating for more than 20 years and our core values are very much in line.”
This isn’t the first time TKG has grown its business and capabilities through acquisition. In 2016, the company acquired Canton’s Vertex CrossMedia, which specialized in video and motion graphics, and in 2015, TKG acquired Ossa Technology Solutions LLC, a managed services provider in Hartville.
