These are the Sharpest Monitors you can Game on

Television and monitor manufacturers have jumped onto the resolution wagon with many releasing 5K and even 8K displays, some of them being “true 8K” while the rest not so much. However, as far as the PC gaming space is concerned, 4K is still the gold standard, with even the highest-end graphics cards struggling to hit the magical 60FPS mark at this resolution. We’ve already compiled guides for GPUs best suited for 4K gaming, and in this post, we have a look at the sharpest and brightest 4K monitors that you can game on.

Best Budget 4K Monitor: LG 24UD58 24-inch 4K UHD

  • Screen Size: 24-inch
  • Brightness: 250 nits
  • Refresh-Rate: 60Hz
  • Response time: 5 ms
  • Panel: IPS
  • Viewing angle: 178
  • Price: Rs. 22,990

With a price tag of less than 23K INR, the LG 24UD58 is one of the cheapest 4K monitors you can get your hands on. Despite the small screen size, it’s not a bad deal as the extra sharpness you get is well worth it. It makes up for the low price by cutting down on brightness and the response times. As you’d have guessed, it’s not for FPS and eSports enthusiasts but rather suitable for RPG lovers like me.

Best 27-inch 4K Monitor: Acer H277HK 27-inch UHD

  • Screen Size: 27-inch
  • Brightness: 350 nits
  • Refresh-Rate: 60Hz
  • Response-time: 4 ms
  • Panel: IPS
  • Viewing angle: 178
  • Price: Rs. 43,990

The Acer H277HK is one of the premium 4K gaming displays out there and unlike Dell’s offerings, it doesn’t cost a fortune. With a brightness of 350 nits, 4 ms response time, it strikes a decent balance between picture quality and responsiveness. You don’t get any of the do-dads of fancy eSports monitors but to be honest, you really don’t need them.

Best Curved 4K Monitor: Samsung LU32R590 32-inch UHD Curved

  • Brightness: 350 nits
  • Refresh-Rate: 60Hz
  • Response time: 8 ms
  • Panel: IPS
  • Viewing angle: 178
  • Price: $500

It’s quite hard to find a curved 4K monitor, and Samsung’s LU32R590 is the closest you’ll get to seeing one. It has a decent brightness of 350 nits but the response time takes a hit at 8ms, but unless you’re planning to use this for fast-paced FPS gaming, it shouldn’t be a major concern. This 32-inch curved 4K display is a bit on the expensive side but the image quality is well worth the extra spending.

Best 144Hz 4K Monitor for FPS and eSports: Acer Nitro XV273K 27″ UHD

  • Viewing angle: 178
  • Price: Rs. 59,999

Nothing screams “gaming monitor” like Acer’s Nitro XV273K. Although it’s slightly on the smaller side, being a 27″ screen, it makes up for that with an insane 1 ms response time despite being an IPS panel. Add to that the 144Hz refresh rate and 350 nits of brightness and you’ve got yourself a grade-A 4K gaming monitor suitable for just about any title, from fast-paced eSports titles like CS: GO to picturesque RPGs like Dragon Age: Inquisition.
